rosie

4 yo. vancouver.

Rosie is available to adopt in vancouver!

Rosie came to Vancouver three years ago along with her sister and dad, and has been in a loving home since then. Unfortunately, Rosie has been unable to adapt to the two babies added to her household since then (hey, we get it - toddlers are hard!) meaning Rosie is now looking for her new forever home.

Likes:

WALKS! Going out for walks and hikes or better yet running around a field is what Rosie lives for! She currently gets two walks a day and they’re definitely the best parts of her day!

Sun Bathing - Rosie loves finding a sunny patch in the backyard and soaking up the rays. VERY classic Saluki.

Sleeping - Rosie’s family always joke that Rosie is their cat. She will go upstairs and go to sleep by herself and be completely content on her own for hours.

Water- she doesn’t like swimming necessarily but loves splashing around in the shallow parts of a lake or river. This always gives her the zoomies!

Dislikes:

Toddlers and young children who cannot be gentle and approach her slowly.

Off leash dogs  - Rosie’s owners used to take her to a small dog park when there were only a few dogs there and she would play and have so much fun. However she was attacked by a German Shepard (2 years ago) and has been nervous around new dogs ever since. With the proper training, Rosie will be able to play with new dogs again, but for now her owners stick with one on one introductions. Rosie is good with other dogs that are calm and easy going.

Busy City Streets - too many loud noises and commotion for Rosie; she finds it overwhelming. Rosie currently lives in a slow-paced residential neighbourhood near parks and forests.

Grooming - we find it’s best to take Rosie to a private groomer who does it out of her home. We tried the busier grooming places where they take multiple dogs at a time and Rosie was very overwhelmed and nervous. We only take her twice a year now as she isn’t overly thrilled about it even in the private one on one setting.
