Here at FUR BAE, we are doing everything we can to keep dogs out of cages, and that means relying on wonderful people who aren’t ready to commit to a dog for life just yet, but do have a lot of love to give! Whether you're on a work visa, don't have a yard yet, or simply can't afford the financial commitment of a forever dog, we'd love to have you give a temporary home to one of our desert dogs until they are adopted.
We properly vet all our fosters, including a phone interview, and a home visit from one of our foster coordinators. Please be prepared to be scrutinized (cordially) so we can make sure all our dogs are as happy as can be.
To give our fosters and furry friends the best experience as possible, we will set up regular meet and greets with potential adoptive families while a pup is in your care. If you fall in love with your fostered friend (aka foster-fail) we will be thrilled to reassess your status as a foster with an adoption questionnaire and begin the process for adoption.
Please note, fosters are used exclusively to:
allow the dog to decompress
allow the rescue agency time to evaluate any special needs of behavioural issues a dog may have
provide a safe space for a dog who has been reserved by a family with children to allow for slow introductions
As such, we do not typically accept fosters who have kids, cats, or other dogs, as this assessment period requires a low-stress environment.
