Irie (reserved)

1 year old. Vancouver.

irie is available to adopt in vancouver!

She’s a 10/10. She’s friendly, gentle, snuggly, and already picking up commands so fast! She is a Siberian Husky with good recall. She loves playing with other young dogs. She will just play and play. She has spent time with an older dog who didn’t want to play as much but she respected that.

Walks: Minimum of one large walk a day. Ideally off-leash and running. If you’re a runner or a biker — something like that. An hour bike ride but she needs 8-10km a day.

In the house: Not destructive in the house. She’s super chill. She does have separation anxiety in that she’ll howl when she’s alone. Usually after about 15 mins she’ll kick off. She’s pre-occupied if there’s other dogs around. Trainable and a matter of time. Might be a door scratcher if left in a room alone.

Shedding: She’s very fluffy but her fosters feel her shedding is minimal. They used the furminator once and they haven’t brushed her since.

Prey-drive: Zero prey-drive displayed towards cats so far. Fosters haven’t witnessed prey-drive even biking by deer. It is possible this might increase as she matures, but we think she has below average prey-drive for the breed. She has even just laid down beside a cat.

She eats very little which is standard for Siberians. Likes raw kibble and dry kibble; devours cucumbers and carrots like it’s going out style. She is house-trained and should not have accidents, but she should be taken out right away in the morning.

If you think you have what it takes to provide Irie with her home, then please read the ADOPT section of our website and submit your application!
