We were casually strolling through Facebook, when we saw a post on a Facebook group about needing a foster home for a Saluki named Chester, I immediately contacted Leanne at Furbae, and within days we had it organized that we would foster him. As Chester had some paperwork issues and missed his flight we were unable to foster him. We still wanted to help though, and Leanne had another dog named Milo that needed a foster him better suited for him, so we took him on, just thinking we would foster him while he finds his forever home.
Though as the days went on a soft spot grew in our hearts, as our own dog Marley loved his company after being alone for a year, and the cats took a liking to him too (most of the time). Two months into fostering we had a family emergency which was extremely tough and we had to travel away from the animals for a short period of time. When we came back and picked them all up, Milo was extremely excited to see us, and throughout the week he sensed that we were having a tough time, and knew exactly when we needed some sass and when we needed some love.
This only made us love him more. Not only was it his personality, attitude or the appreciation Marley had for him, but his ears also had us captured. Within a couple of weeks, we had filled out the application to making him apart of our family forever. The ladies at Furbae were extremely helpful, and even though it was a simple foster and nothing long term, it was hard to accept the idea that someone else might take him on. I believe that the ladies at Furbae knew exactly what was going to happen. They gave us a dog that they knew we would love and that we would want to keep.
Milo is a terrific dog and so are many of the other dogs that Furbae bring over, they are all caring and full of love. Even when Milo wakes us up at 3 am it’s hard to be annoyed by him because he has a lot to say and we just love to listen to him.
